From the groove of a dancer's hips rocking rhythmically from side to side, to the grace of another's arms stretched wide to express the lyrics to a song, these stories are told in
movement and music. The theatrical dance production "I Tune Into Love" delves into the emotions of human relationships, from joy to heartbreak and everything in between, as three couples express themselves through movement set to song.  Guided by an unseen narrator, audience are invited to follow these couples - one married, another engaged and the third dating - as they experience infidelity, boredom, abuse and self discovery. "The dancers convey everything through their body language, through their movement, their dance, all types of dance styles," said Angelica Leontyne Ware, Artistic Director and Choreographer for "I Tune Into Love." "It's better sometimes to not say anything and just fell the vibe from someone." The production debuted in October at the Red Clay Theatre in Duluth, GA and will return for a second engagement this weekend.  Ware herself will dance the role of Mrs. Jones, who is seeking attention from her husband, strays from their relationship. "We wanted to tell a story that some couples might be able to relate to," Ware said.  "By telling the story through dance and movement, the audience will be able to feel every emotion through the body language of each dancer.  Sometimes you don't have to say a word to tell someone how you feel." The stories will play out on the Red Clay Theatre stage during two performances this weekend. What happens when you combine hit songs, dance, a dynamic storyline, and theater? You create a play that is in a class of its own and sets the bar high for any other that may attempt to follow in its creative dance shoes.

When you think of a play; you think of one of the three categories:

1. Actors portraying a story with some singing.
2. Dancers portraying a story with some dancing.
3. Actors portraying a story with some singing and dancing.

But, when you have dancers with little to no lines, dancing out the story to some of the latest tracks in the music business, and a narrator giving you just enough...you are exposed to something new and delightfully entertaining. The dancing was graceful and powerful. Choreographers, Angelica Ware and Antwan Sessions, do a wonderful job creating a visually engaging portrayal. The storyline was intriguing and held your attention; an adult interpretation of three relationships and their highs and lows.

The one thing that put this play over the top for me was the music. Once the audience is given a short narrative, a song plays and the dancers perform the story and their characters? emotions. This takes you on your own rollercoaster ride of emotions as you hear, see, and ultimately feel the characters pain, joy, and conflictions.

And as much as I would love to tell you the storyline; I will not. After the play's standing ovation; we were assured by one of the producers, Coronde' Ware, that "I Tune Into Love" will be returning. And I should tell you, if you miss it this time...you will surely be sorry. Coming from someone that has seen a number of plays (from all three categories); One Productions has introduced a refreshing and ingenious new class of theater that will keep you entertained from being to end.

My rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars.
